Our Family of Six...

The birth of Abby has been a blessing to our family. She is very sweet and her older brothers and sister love her to death. The day Abby was born, Ben came down with a high fever and then two days later, Jessie had the same thing. By the end of the week my entire family (except Abby and I) had the flu. (Jessie and Ben both missed about 1 1/2 weeks of school.) I'll tell you, it's not too fun coming home from the hospital with a newborn with your family having a fever, coughing, blowing their noses constantly, etc. I was a bit freakish about hand washing, using hand sanitizer, not breathing on Abby, etc. Mike thought I was going a bit overboard sometimes, but hey, she didn't get sick and that's what's most important!! My mom came in the day before Abby turned 1 week old. That was such a blessing. She was able to help out around the house with things Mike hadn't been able to do because he was sick, and I was too busy adjusting to Abby's schedule. As my mom always does, she took very good care of us for 2 weeks. We were sooooo sad to see her go this past Saturday! I've somehow survived the last two days without her. Today the kids were back in school (they had last week off for mid-winter break. So, since Abby was born, Jessie and Ben have attended about 3 days of school.) and we've had a pretty good day so far. I'm sure I'll get in the groove in a few days and hopefully before I know it, my family of SIX won't seem much bigger than it was before... Here are some photos from the past 3 weeks.

Ben finished his basketball season. He played really well and had lots of fun!

Ben turned 6 on Feb. 22nd. He went to the Lego Store at the mall to spend money that Grandma and Grandpy gave him and then we went to the Mongolian Grill for Chinese noodles for dinner. He really wanted to use chopsticks! Then we had cake and icecream at home.
Birthday boy holding Abby. He is always so sweet with her!
Grandma and Abby.
Our family of 6! It's quite the challenge to get everyone to smile and look at the camera at the same time.
Big sister, Jessie, with Abby. She loves to hold her.
Grandma played makeover with Jessie. I better watch out when she really is old enough to wear makeup. It makes her look much older than she really is!
Josh with Abby. He loves her, too, and is usually very nice to her.
